Used for flying qualities, stability and control, and performance evaluations. Used as test bed for supersonic research and to train pilots for the X-20 Dyna-Soar program. WFU 1970. In Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio, the hometown of Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon. Armstrong flew the aircraft.
