Hi John,
The number of flying DC-3s is decreasing. After comparing it with the details held by other DC-3 enthusiasts, the number is in the 170s.... and about one third with turboprops. After checking some details, the new list of registrations can be downloaded via "Ralph M. Pettersen's Propliner Information Exchange Website", check http://www.proplinerinfoexchange.com/1- ... ws.htm#top

I haven't had time to make changes to the DC-3 list yet, but I have updated the Spitfire list to now include TE392 in Australia, which made its first post-restoration flight early last week, and now MJ755, the Greek Spitfire, which just made its first post-restoration flight today at Biggin Hill in the UK.

The list for active C54/DC4 is missing Florida Air Transport?
N9015Q
N460WA
Are they still active or have they been retired?
Also apparently Sprayer N55CW is being readied for Ferry flight back to Canada, its supposed to leave this month.

I can't find anything on N9015Q flying again since the nosewheel collapse at New Smyrna in 2014. The most recent photos I have seen of it are from this past November, sitting in the grass at New Smyrna with concrete blocks tied to the landing gear.

With regard to N460WA, the latest I saw were photos of the aircraft sitting outside at the Castle Airport in California in 2018, looking weather beaten and with bird droppings all over the tail. I can't find anything to show that it has been flying recently.

Looks like P-51 Frances Dell is on it's way to Germany per social media posts by Meier Motors.

Thank you for the heads-up, Thomas, I just spotted that this evening too. I hope they leave the markings/paint scheme just as it is.

The now two-seat converted Hawker Hurricane BE505 is flying again, having made its first test flight today following the completion of modification to two-seat, dual control configuration. This brings the total current count on flying Hurricanes to 16 (though this includes one of the BBMF examples which is currently undergoing significant overhaul work). It was also announced within the last couple weeks that the aircraft will be joining the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar and will soon be offering rides in it.

Photos here, taken by Darren Harbar and posted to the Hawker Restorations Facebook page:

Update from South Africa
Unfortunately there are no airworthy DC-4's at the moment in SA. ZS-AUB is grounded, work on ZS-AUA has been at a standstill for more than a year. ZS-BMH has been standing for about a year and although work will be done on her to bring her up to airworthy condition, it is likely that she will not be flown unless some big $$$ arrives from somewhere.

Regarding DC-3'/C-47 : ZS-BXF is at Rand (FAGM) and has not flown in more than a year. Work is however proceeding so its likely that it will return to service at some point. ZS-CRV is at Wonderboom (FAWB) and has also not flown for quite a few months although some engine runs were done in Jan this year

Thanks to Bearcat SA and Marksman, I have updated the DC-3/C-47 and DC-4/C-54 listings. With regard to the DC-4's in South Africa, it's sad to see them in their current appearance/condition. ZS-BMH and ZS-AUB in particular looked absolutely stunning only just a few years ago. Suddenly, it would seem, there is only one active DC-4 anywhere in the world, that being N96358, operating in Alaska. However, I don't know at all about N460WA in California - I haven't found any evidence to show it has been active in recent years, and the most recent photos I've seen of it over time show it parked outside in the same spot, paint faded, windows covered inside, and the tail coated in bird droppings. I have removed N3054V from the list, which hasn't flown in two years and had its registration cancelled/put on hold back in January. Photos from last year show it parked outside, paint faded, with engines removed. The list now also reflects the storm damage sustained to the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation's C-54 last week.

I thought N460WA was on a Standby Oil Dispersal contract in California. Not sure if the contract is over and if they have kept her in annual?
