Ecorse should be open on Friday except for during Thunderbird practice? I should be getting into town early enough to catch some action Friday night too.

Not sure how they treat Ecorse during T-birds practice, but if it is anything like Blue Angels practice the best part of Ecorse between Beck and Denton is blocked off for that surface drive where we park for arrivals. That's only if south ops too. North ops are usually better. There is a field near the old Zantop/Kalitta Hangars on the southwest side of the field for Rwy 5 arrivals. That isn't effected by the T-birds/Angels safety area like Ecorse is.

This will be the first Thunder that I missed since 2007 as I chose to spend the whole week at Oshkosh instead and burned my vacation time. Looks to be a great static line up.

Hopefully you guys don't mind me posting this here.

I, again, am stuck with an extra admission and fighter club ticket and I am looking to unload them.

I will sell them at the advance rate I bought them for: the admission ticket is $25USD ($35 as of today) and the fighter club is $75 USD,and is for the Sat show (Sat is currently sold out)

I can either meet on the Friday before the show, or the Sat morning at the gate before the show opens, once the gates open I will be on the move and will not wait around.

Please PM if you are interested.

Sean

There is only one flying and it is in NJ that weekend. It was there a few years ago.

Word was received today, that the Chief of the German Air Force (GAF), has cancelled all A400M appearances in North America and Europe due to higher priority taskings. This is not the type of news organizers like to receive just days before an event. But, that is sometimes the nature of the air show business! Thunder has received GAF support 4 of the last 6 years, a record that no other show in North America can match. They will be back!!

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

I have two extra general admission tickets that any Wix member in need of them can have for free. They were sent with my yankee air museum membership and I already bought mine last year. If you want them just PM me your address and I’ll drop them in the mail so you’ll have them for the show. First to ask gets them.

Updated aircraft list posted this AM.

Doubt that there will be another as it is too close to the event.

See yankeeairmuseum.org/airshow

Tom Walsh.
