Back from extinction...looks like a beautiful job.

I thin this is the same airplane (and without having to look for it in a hour and a half video):

Not brought back from extinction: there is another, in Luftwaffe markings, in France.

As a side note, Vigna di Valle is one of the most beautiful settings for an aviation museum that I've ever visited, and the collection of aircraft is nothing short of fantastic. An easy day trip from Rome via train or rental car.

Does anyone know the story on this aircraft? Restoration? Reproduction? Is this the one that was a memorial in France for many years?

Thanks for the post! This one has been 85% done for years sitting in storage at the Italian Air Force Museum. Glad to see it finally on display.

This particular plane was built for the Luftwaffe in 1944 (serial number 126). After the war it was donated to the School of Engineering at Bologna. The Italian Air Force Museum acquired it in 1970.

Information from Classic Wings, Issue 59, 2007.

That's pretty cool. A great addition to the museum, and excellent news for fans of the type.

Plus three P-35s and an AT-12.
I kid, I kid... wonder how a Reggiane would perform in a dogfight with a Seversky?

They reckon that they performed and handled pretty good. My money would be on the Reggiane, but who knows?
