Did anyone get this Hellcat? What about the other airframes that were at the museum?

The CAF wing in Arizona got the TBM Avenger. It will be restored to fly.

Would love to hear any developments on the Hellcat. Even if the Navy still owns it, another Hellcat on static display somewhere is a good thing.

Ugh - not another 'painted plane' - I am glad it will go to where she will be restored to flying!

Oddly, yesterday I wondered what happened to the former Pima Hellcat?
I saw it many times...IIRC, I believe it was in a display hangar for awhile.

Recovered from the Pacific?

It was recovered from the Pacific. Now at the NMNA in Pensacola as I recall

So the questions remains... what happened to the Hellcat project? In addition what happened to the very nice replica Hellcat that supposedly has never flown?

I can confirm the Pima Hellcat resides at NNAM in P'cola.

Please tell me more about the "replica Hellcat".. I'm not familiar with this one.
Was it the aforementioned F6F at Quonset??

Curious,
Owen
