Heck, I live in Western WA state and I'd never even heard of the place before just now!

A great collection of General Aviation types...unfortunately, I've only visited it via its website.

Seems like I waited too long to visit.

Hopefully some of the ships will make their way to the Western Antique Automobile and Airplane Museum in Hood River, Oregon.

I've been there many times, usually during the "Concrete Fly-In" each year...usually the third weekend in July, if I remember correctly. Nice field at Concrete, WA, surrounded by mountains, and the fly-in was really old school, with all the hangar doors open to display whatever lived there, local swing band playing in one hangar, freedom to walk about and talk to owners or help shove a plane outside so the owner can go flying...antiques and classics lining the runway and beating up the field on a regular basis. Cool antique and classic cars all over the place too. You never knew what planes would show up there. Never crowded at all...kind of like how the Arlington, WA fly-in used to be in the early days. It always appeared to me that they were trying to keep it small and high quality and very friendly, and attract the antique and classic guys who enjoy the relaxed country fly-in atmosphere. They also would fly a bunch of their planes to the Arlington, WA fly-in each year ( second weekend in July) and position their birds around a portable red barn (complete with windmill) at the center of the air show. I'm really sorry to hear this is going to end...maybe keep an eye on how they draw down the museum...with luck, maybe there will be one more fly-in in 2018 before they close completely?
