Tigercat blew a tire on landing, ground the wheel down a bit

Damage looks “minimal”, but hard to imagine it will fly again this week. Fortunately she (Connie) was pretty well slowed down when it let go. She spun about 135 degrees to port and stopped - then calmly shut down the engines and waited for assistance

Yes, we now know that just the rim on the main gear of a Tigercat provides enough clearance to avoid a prop strike! At least, if you don’t hit any bumps ...

Anybody know if the Tigercat has nose wheel steering? Guessing it's free caster. If you gotta steer with the brakes, there wouldn't be much you could do with a blown tire or a brake lockup.

Some great still images on Facebook show that the tire didn't blow, but the whole left tire & wheel assembly came off, leaving just the brake section on the shaft. The EAA warbird webcam seemed to show the aircraft towed back into its parking space with the wheel/tire reattached.

Looking at the Tigercat video, it looks like part of the wheel/rim (the "spokes") disentigrated.

An even better look here at 13:50:

I was watching further north from the edge of the warbird ramp...that "pop" when the tire leaves could be heard pretty far away.

I stand happily corrected (I hope) Tigercat is back on the ramp where it started yesterday, sitting on all 3 tires.

Who owns the TGs?
One is a Piper, what's the other, I can't tell from the photos?
Will they fly?

I recently watched a video on YouTube of the WAAAM flying theirs...neat to see.

John, you answered your own question...WAAAM trailered the TG's in for the week.

I never got a chance to ask the folks showing them off about whether flight demonstrations were able to happen.
