Potter - still coming?

She's scheduled to be stopping by CH2A in Windsor tomorrow through Sunday on her way to Oshkosh along with TE294 (which arrived in Windsor today)

If you do make it to Oshkosh August, keep an eye out for Harvard AJ583 which has pretty much all of her updated markings made using your font files. I'll be there too :)

:partyman:

Thanks for that tip! My dad still lives in Windsor, he will want to get out to the airport and have a look.

I'll make a point of checking out AJ583 and will keep an eye out for you. :)

August,

I'm still anticipating a minimum of 3 Invaders: "Silver Dragon" (already there?), "Special Kay", and whatever example the Doggett family is bringing (Just an uneducated guess is N26BP)

http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry ... ertxt=26BP

The "Class of '45" team has been advertised all along, so I don't know how much more confirmation you require for the Tobul F4U-4.

Kermit Weeks shipped up four aircraft...I think you missed the Albatros.

CAF SB2C (Someone will counter that it will be flying rides out of of FLD, but every year that happens she spends at least a day or two on the ground at OSH)

B-25's as well, but I'm too tired to look them all up...someone else's turn to google

Yes, so I see. Cool that there will be at least three A-26. I recall many years in a row when there were no Invaders at OSH.

Some more webcam observations.

Frasca's P-40 has arrived. If there's a warbird that symbolizes Oshkosh for me, that is it. It first appeared there IN THIS PAINT JOB, 42 years ago now when it won the big trophy. Might have been there even a few years earlier when Bill Ross owned it. It was featured in the National Geographic article in the 1970s that brought OSH to wider public attention.

Kermit's Mosquito is in the central square, visible on the vintage cam, and they've pushed a Tiger Moth next to it. I guess that's where the Spitfire(s) and other RAF types will be shown.

I'd be surprised if the Collings Foundation's Spitfire BR601 was there this year, they keep it in Worcester Massachusetts and I saw it at a local show last weekend. Here's my son standing with her.

Wow, they let you get pretty close to it at Westover...

Yes, that was right after it landed but as long as we were there they never roped it off. Rob Collings was around the plane so my plans to jump in and fly it home were thwarted...

The mustang wasn't roped off either.

Heard a bad rumor that the Venom went down near Sheboygan. No other details at this time. Hope everyone is OK.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be a rumor. Local news is reporting that it went down near the airport in Sheboygan. It hit a farm building, killing the pilot and injuring a couple of people on thr ground. Sad.........

I just heard that Mike Potter's Kittyhawk went back to Gatineau with an oil issue, so unfortunately won't be at Oshkosh :-(

Unfortunate about the Kitty, but better to be safe. My folks dropped by to see the Spit at Windsor today and sent me pics. What a beauty!

Meanwhile EAA keeps teasing us about other Spits. Here's the photo that appeared with today's "Airventure Highlights" news (puff) piece. Nice shot of the Lauder Mk.I and Collings Mk.IX. Nothing about Spits mentioned in the text. I continue to think that Vintage Wings will be the only Spit there.

Special Kay arrived a few hours ago - the team's Instagram account has a screenshot from the webcam of her taxiing.

I've heard this morning that the Texas Flying Legends/Dakota Territory Air Museum Spitfire MK959 is coming.

Well, that would be nice, and cynical though I am, that’s credible coming from you John.

Special K folks, if you’re tuned in: are you still leaving early Wednesday and if so, what do you mean by early? I plan to arrive on Wednesday, as early as I can sneak on the field, and would love to have at least a quick look at your plane.

The A/C was just moved over to the WB In Review pad so I walked over and asked the crew (they seem pretty busy right now). They say "as soon as possible" Wednesday morning. Hope you can get here early!
