Just watching “Dunkirk”. Is that a CGI Heinkel? It’s the best airplane CGI I’ve ever seen if it is.

I wondered too if that was CGI or not. As far as I know there are no CASA 2111s flying and certainly no originals.

I think I read somewhere that they had a few smaller models.

Very large scale and detailed r/c model. The first time I saw the movie, in IMAX, I could have sworn it was a CASA 2111....but it had the original engines. Very well done.

I was utterly unimpressed.

I was too busy eating my popcorn to notice.

I wasn't real impressed with the movie per se, but I thought the flying scenes were better than average. Maybe it had to be seen at an iMax... It certainly showcased though what a useless formation for combat a tightly flown vic of three was. If either of the wingmen looked around for a second for Jerry there'd been a collision!

Those skinny "F-89" wheels kinda spoil the look, along with the yellow two-bladers...

Good movie but the dog-fighting sequences seemed a bit too leisurely.

And, Man, that hot air balloon Spitfire floating up and down the beach at the end was something else!
