How Many RCAF Spitfire Sqns by July 1944

Wed Jun 13, 2018 2:18 pm

I'm researching our Spitfire, TE-294, for my trip west in her this summer, and need a few background facts.

I can't seem to find a number for how many RCAF Spitfire squadrons there were in the UK/France in early summer of 1944. Any ideas?

And I wonder how many Canadians in total flew the Spitfire during the course of the entire war?

Thanks,

Dave
