Chris

Great, thanks, that is a relief. Not sure why it has taken so long this time around (and the Post Office keeps putting prices up to cover their so called 'service').
Anyway, pleased to hear that our international subscribers should start getting theirs from here on in, thanks to everyone for their patience and ongoing support.
I didn't think the Mystery Aircraft was that hard ;-)

cheers
Dave

I haven't had any notification of anyone outside NZ having received theirs which is concerning. Normally get responses for the Mystery aircraft quiz.
If anyone has received theirs 'offshore' give me a shout out, thanks.

cheers
Dave

Hi Dave I live in the state of Ohio. I renewed my subscription the beginning of August starting with issue 109 the current issue. As of this morning mine has yet to arrive in the mail. There was sort of a similar situation with another warbird magazine I subscribe to that for some reason there was a longer than usual delay. Is there others here in the states that also have not gotten issue 109? Dave is there any kind of a back up plan that Classic Wings has in place if this continues regarding issue #109? Hopefully we all will be getting ours shortly. But I do agree for whatever reason this issue is on turtle mail. I asl always will look forward to issue 109 when it hopefully does arrive. Thanks Dave.

Hi Ed

I am hopeful that they will start arriving now, as per those to OZ, UK and Europe. If yours (or others) are not there by this time next week I will start posting out replacements from the office- we do get extra printed to cover such scenarios. Hopefully it won't be necessary.

Dave

The centrefold picture of the Lancaster is stunning
Such an elegant and efficient design.

Dave

Great magazine as always

Just a question re the Recoveries Article

Is the "Soviet PR Spitfire' and 'FAA Hellcat' referring to

Spitfire BP917 of 3./118.RAP which was shot down 16.05 1944 at Jakobselvvidda, Varanger Finnmark. The pilot Kpt.Viktor V.Aleksandrov KIA?

And

Hellcat JV203 of 1840 Sqn HMS Indefatigable. Piloted by Lieutenant Commander Ronald Archibald Richardson from Gisborne, New Zealand KIA 24.08 1944 lost at Kaafjord, Alta Finnmark

Perhaps

Corsair II JT309 Sub Lt.Clive Eustace Woodward of 1841 Sqdn.FAA (HMS Formidable) RNZNVR, was hit by AA fire and ditched near the entrance of Kåfjord on same mission would be an interesting investigation!

Received my copy here on the West coast of the US on Friday. Thanks Dave!

Spectacular issue as usual. Glad to see the Bristols on the mend.

Dave - Just got home from the Wings Over Dallas show and was hoping it would be in the mail, and it was. Now to see what the mystery aircraft is! All the best.

A relief to hear that the US mags are finally being delivered, hopefully whatever took delivery so long this time around won't happen again!

Paul - All I was told was that the aircraft (thought to be a Spit or Hellcat but could have been a Corsair I guess) was witnessed by locals bellied on the ice and later sank, fingers crossed it will be discovered. Not sure why the team are travelling so far in just the 'hope' that they may discover the wreck, when according to one poster, Norwegian lakes are teaming with pristine wrecks... but I digress ;-)

It isn't Lieutenant Commander Richardson's Hellcat, the wreckage of that was discovered on land in recent times.

cheers all and again thanks for your patience.
Dave
