I assumed this aircraft was eventually scrapped?

That information which is originally gleaned from Goodall's Warbird Directory is no longer valid. This is the current data post 1962:

Aero Service Corp, Philadelphia PA 7.3.63/68
Aero Service Corp, Manila, Philippines 2.3.68/72
(based Darwin, Australia 69 on mapping contract of
Irian Jaya (former Dutch New Guinea)
dam., landed with right gear up, Manila, Philippines 4.7.72
scrapped at Manila, struck-off USCR 12.10.72

Previously N4000K was reported as abandoned at Dili Airport, Portuguese Timor after the
Indonesian invasion 12.75: this is now known to be incorrect.
