Yes indeed, a perfect gentleman when I talked to him. If I remember correctly, the first time the 109E was displayed here in the US was at Thunder Over Michigan, but I can't remember the year. After Mr Romain shut it down, everyone flocked to it and everyone wanted to talk to him. I just wanted to get some nice photos of it, so I stood around waiting patiently for the herd to move away. Not being the most patient person around, I walked away on down the flight line, looking and drooling on the other planes. When I finally headed back down to where the 109 was parked, I noticed a gentleman with a green flight suit on walking towards me. It was Mr Romain. He grinned when I asked if I could take his photo so I could put it with the photos I hoped to get of the 109. Stood there for the better part of 15-20 minutes telling me what a joy it was to fly along with the other planes that he has flown. Meeting people like him at airshows are what makes all the hassels of waiting to find a parking spot, waiting in line to use the port-a-potty when you really have to go and the expensive food and drinks all worth while. At least to me
