If nothing changes, and after the 2 unfortunate accidents, and if everyone makes it on the ramp, 50% of the airworthy Corsairs in North America will be there in 2 weeks time!!!

Two weeks out! Hopefully we'll have some late additions to make up for the ones that will no longer be able to make it. It sure would be nice if the P-82 could swing by after Oshkosh.

Agreed and AGREED! Ramp is pretty full! Supposedly the budget is topped out, which is interesting considering they had 2 Corsairs dropout, maybe they were over-budget at 14! Hoping for Trent to make it!

Update from Facebook

What to pick for Military Monday? How about everyone's favorite close air support aircraft.....the A-10C Thunderbolt II!! Affectionately known as the "Warthog", the 175th Fighter Wing plans on sending an A-10 from their home base in Baltimore, Maryland. Even more cool, the A-10 will arrive on Saturday morning of the air show weekend! Don't miss the chance to see the 'Warthog' up close!! #militaryaviation #airshow #feelthethunder #yankeeairmuseum #militarymonday #airshowmajors

It is time for our last Military Monday post and we just flipped into BEAST MODE!!
Adding to the static display line-up are two EA-18G Growlers, a special operations HC-130J Combat King II and from the Royal Canadian Air Force a CH-146 Griffon; CC-150 Polaris and a CC-130J Hercules! In addition, we have expanded the flying display to include two more THUNDER debuts; a pair of F-15E Strike Eagles from Mountain Home AFB in Idaho and a MH-60T Jayhawk Search and Rescue Demo from Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City, Michigan! Both the Jayhawk and Strike Eagles will be based remotely. #military #militaryaircraft #feelthethunder #beastmode #yankeeairmuseum #corsaircrazy #airshow #airshowmajors

Thunder is putting together quite the show. The Viper demo opposed to Thunderbirds or Blues definitely opened up the schedule to allow for some different stuff, I think so far we have 4x Texan II's, one of the 4 C-130's, Strike Eagles, and the Jayhawk all scheduled to fly during the show (and the A-10 arrival on Saturday). That's pretty special!!!

Still hoping for some warbird trickle down from Oshkosh, but at this point the XP wouldn't have a place to park!

Many thanks to the team for making my first Thunder a memorable one!

Excellent info about the F-15's, not sure what "will be based remotely" implies.

From facebook, the cant land at kyip. The runway isnt long enough for their weight. They will probably base out of selfridge, do the flybys, and then return to selfridge. Just like the jet demos do with geneseo basing out rochester

What's the difference between these F-15s and the static F-15s from last year......?

Apparently the Strike Eagle had a much higher weight and they have a minimum runway length.

Hmm that sucks, makes sense though. I know Phantoms have operated out of there many times, and am pretty sure B-1's, probably F-14's too. You would think a 15E wouldn't need any more runway than those, but it is what it is.
