Does anybody have a list of Corsair construction or manufacturer serial #s?

I have all the Bureau numbers but no reference to CN/MSN #s

If you want, I could scan the pages from the book "Air Arsenal North Amweica" by Phil Butler.

Saludos,

Hi Scott,

I've compiled the serial lists for all the -1s, but that's as far as I've gotten. If you'll send your e-mail addy, I'll attach the lists as RTF files.

'Till then, Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Cheers,

Since we're on the subject of Construction Numbers...

This is an original photo from Goodyear dated Oct. 9, 1943. The Corsair has 9/29 (Sept 29th?) and either 209, 269 or 289 written in pencil on the fuselage.
It also has the same numbers (209, 268, 289) stenciled under the paper taped to the fuselage.

Any ideas on C/N - BuNo conversion?

Hi Mike,

Not a problem - all three numbers (which are almost certainly construction numbers) were for Birdcage FG-1s. (The glazed rear vision tunnel confirms this.) The serials were 13200, 13260, and 13280.

Cheers,

Dana

Yes they did Dana and thanks! I will be adding them to the Forgotten Props: Corsair listing in the near future. I appreciate the help.
