Awesome News! Hopefully now they'll go to someone who'll put air 'neath their wings!

Platinum Fighter sales have two other Griffon Spits listed, so that will give you a ballpark figure for the XIV.

Errrr...I visited Bob Jens facility a few years ago and he graciously allowed me in for a visit.

After he acquired both birds in semi restored state......he put a LOT of his own personal $ to get those back in the air.

His birds....his color choices.

I also heard how much modifications were put in his Spitfire. Not necessarily authentic some may say. But practical others may argue…..

Yep, his money, his choice.

Doesn't mean that now they maybe for sale, I can't also hope that someone else with deep pockets will buy them, AND also choose to repaint them properly, especially the Mossie.

That Spitfire & Mk IX MA793 in the Brazilian museum, MIGHT be one of the last ones with cockpits painted Lt. Gray. Maybe the new owner/s will change that. geek pop2

When that Spitfire was owned by Len Tanner, it spent time at the New England Air Museum in the early 80's.
