The 75th anniversary of D-Day is upon us. My G-Grandfather, Austin John Hadfield, had been RSM of the HLI of C, which went ashore as first reserve at Juno Beach, against terrible odds, but achieved remarkable, though costly, success.
I don't have a song for him, and what they accomplished that terrible day, but I have this one, about an acquaintance of mine, who was overhead, keeping the sky clear.

There is a heavy metal band from Sweden called Sabaton that does songs about history, one of their most famous is Primo Victoria about D-Day. The video that someone put to the song shows excellent real footage of D-Day
