Word from those that attended the lecture is that the restoration is expected to only take another 17 months or so (therefore anticipated first flight in late 2020). It was also confirmed in the lecture that the desert paint scheme is only the first stage in the recreation of the finished paint scheme that it will have - the process they are taking is recreating the same, layered, paint/markings it had when found - including the initial/early desert colors, markings and stencils, that will then be painted over and around with the northern green paint scheme/markings it received later.

I really love the attention to detail on the newly-made exhaust stacks, including the logo, and it has been said that all of the anodizing finishes and primer finishes are 100% authentic to how everything originally was. It was recently mentioned on another forum thread here that the propeller assembly was recently sent to Vintage V-12's, where the Jumo-211 engine is just about completed, to begin test stand engine runs soon.

Really looking forward to seeing this one finished! Am I correct in assuming that this will be for the most part a new-build reproduction incorporating a few original components?

Fantastic. It's so great to see them sharing so much of the project after so long behind closed doors.

Also some of these photos are super helpful to this modelbuilder who has a kit waiting to be started.

Are there any other Stuka projects that may one day fly? I'm assuming this is the only one. I'm impressed with how complex the metal work is in the cockpits for such an early design.

Kevin Wheatcroft has a project being built up in Germany, but I believe it is being done to static/taxiable, not airworthy, condition.

I didn’t think there was much material out there.
