The canopy coming off is an interesting detail. Structural failure?

Or he tried to get out.. won't know the truth until the investigation is complete.

On a M9MB that would be extremely less appealing then trying to save it.

C'mon man. An airplane is sticks and metal. You can build a dozen new ones. Each person is unique and irreplaceable.

Not judging or saying what so ever......

However (my opinion) I do agree in one regards.....If conditions prevails, it may safer to try to crash land it than to bail out and hope to clear the 2 meat choppers in the back.....Certain AC's have less interesting prospects when it comes to bailing out.

Agreed to wait on the final investigation report before thinking or reflecting on any form of judgment....just such a sad story for the family and friends.....

I found the preliminary NTSB report, but its pdf and the site won't allow me to upload it? :?

Quote:
Multiple witnesses located near the accident site reported observing the airplane flying on a north eastern heading at a low altitude when it performed a "barrel roll." Several witnesses reported that after the maneuver, the airplane "wobbled [from] side to side" before the airplane's canopy separated. Shortly after, the airplane entered a steep right turn, and descended into the ground in a nose low attitude.
