Warbird Information Exchange

Some interesting finds from a recent donation to the Connecticut Air & Space Center. One is what looks like an original drawing of the purposed V-337 Cargo Plane. (I think Fairchild won that contract). What's interesting to note is that the artist apparently was given direction to alter the V-tail configuration.



And then there is this beautiful line drawing of what I can only figure what was supposed to be the OS2U-4 Kingfisher.
Wikipedia states: "OS2U-4, Two aircraft converted with narrow-chord and high-aspect ratio wings, also fitted with full-span flaps. Not developed."



Sure would love to see someone come out with a nice "what-if" model kit of this one!

Chicks Dig Warbirds.......right?

Interesting design on that cargo aircraft a high thin boom leading to the tail instead of a twin boom like we saw on the C-82/C-119.

Very different to the tapered (cut away?) fuselage we see on the
C-122, C-123, C-130 and C-133.
A bit like the ungainly RAF Blackburn Beverly...The UKs early '50s airlifter, (just to make it extra slow, they kept it fixed gear).
