This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Love it, can’t afford it. Maybe it will be the basis for an airworthy example one day. I think the BMW 801 engines are very scarce.

We all know that you can have basically a new Spitfire built in the UK, and new Mustangs too.
But is any shop routinely producing FW190 airframe components?

The most capable shop right now to conduct such a restoration, if that were to form the basis of an airworthy restoration, would be Gosshawk, which has had experience in a few different Fw-190 restorations, including the Collings Foundation's Fw-190F-8, the vast majority of which has been manufactured new using the original parts as patterns. They of course have all of the fixtures, jigs, tools, etc. to support such a project.

...or leave it as it is and avoid yet another desecration of our aviation history!
Or make a replica (which it will be after all) and display the replica alongside the remnants of the actual aircraft. Has that ever happened?

Id make it a complete plane again in the original condition...Fix up the rough bits and preserve it.

How about buying this one and a flag werke FW-190 and painting them in matching squadron colors. One to fly and one to keep as an investment.
