When I log on over there, I can almost hear the crickets.
Most of the regulars and the main go to threads are gone.
The complete lack of any meaningful communication with the users certainly helped nothing.
The damage they did is irretrievable at this point.

It's a real shame. :(

Reminds me of the joke

Q: "How do you build a small aviation history based internet forum?"

A: "Start with a large aviation history based internet forum"

Unfortunately true. Add in Facebook and it becomes tougher to maintain forums. So many forums go stagnant because people find it easier to goto facebook, which it is. But I find the sense of community on Facebook to be lacking.

The one good thing is that those that continue to frequent forums are the ones we prefer to be here anyway as they tend to be the community minded individuals we need. Quality vs Quantity.

Welcome Refugees, I'm sorry to witness the passing of a grand UK (and worldly) clubhouse and a unique source of aviation history discussion...I feel your pain. :|
Question? For the past month I've been trying to source the Flight International archives, at flightglobal.com, but finding notice they are down due to reformatting etc.. Do any of you folks have any news of how much longer this could be going? Hopefully the same troup of baboons who ruined ya'lls forum didn't get the contract for the Flight relaunch? :(

airnutz, there is a bit of gen on the key historic forum regarding your query. Think they are reformatting it to make compatible with new system or something.

Thanks Sopwith, if you guys hear a rumble of how long they're planning on being down I'd appreciate a headzup!
