C47 Part

This part arrived in the post this morning along with a B17 flap control casting. So a mixed bag of parts form a crash collector.

This part has a splined shaft that turns/is turned by the cog on the top. Designed to be bolted to something and with a part number of 5364842-8 it sounds like a Douglas part number and possibly C47.

I have checked the C47 parts list from 1952 and it is not shown.

So is this a C47 part but from an earlier model ?

Any guidance on where it was from ?

Brian: Have a photo of the opposite face? Might give some clues as to what system to be looking at.

No clue right now. P/N sorta follows Douglas system, but could be for anything they built. Construction suggests that it's a low speed motor or hand drive adapter. The machining looks to be a single small drive/driven pinion that was 90 degree indexable for various installations. Cowl flap drive, shutter door of some type maybe?

Just thinking that this came with a B17 part - whether it was B17.

The parts catalogue for the G and E don't have it but similar numbers are used for the windshield wiper motor assembly.

Possibly part of the motor assembly/flexible drive for a windshield wiper?

at the weekend I bought an Avro Shackleton chair and along with it came a couple of parts including a part I recognised.

The unknown part above is the head from a Delco Fuel Booster Pump - as it is identical to the Delco pump that arrived at the weekend.

I was checking the B17G catalogue and it shows a Fuel Booster Pump - but specifically a Thompson one is listed.

The Delco WW2 promo catalogue shows that the Delco fuel booster pump was used on early B17s.
