There is quite a lag between exposure, detectability/transmissibility, development of symptoms (some won't have any symptoms) and death or recovery.

The doctor next door (at 6 feet away) told me that his hospital is predicting the peak month for deaths in Southern California to be June. People with symptoms now might spend months in ICU before they (hopefully) recover or die.

I think the primary reason the cases are climbing so dramatically in the US now is because test kits & testing have become available.

I contracted Swine Flu in 2009. I have no idea where I got it, I don't know anyone that had it and my immediate family didn't get it from me. I called my doctor's office and told them I had the worst headache of my life and a high fever. They told me that i probably had Swine Flu and not to come into the office, take Ibuprofen for the headache, and self-quarantine (which I did). I doubt my case ever got into the books of people confirmed to have Swine Flu. There may be plenty of people that suspect they have Covid-19 that are self-quarantined. No way to capture those numbers unless they get tested and are confirmed to be infected.

Hopefully we start to hear some good news about projects that will now be finished because of all this and extra time on our hands. Let's get to planning a GREAT show come the end of July.

I live in Wisconsin and just 5 minutes ago heard on Milwaukee news that the event was now cancelled for this year.

I'm sure that this decision was thought over very carefully.

Sun ‘n Fun has been organised by an independent non-profit for many years now.

I predict it will be canceled this year.
What method do you use to make these predictions? Ouija Board? Crystal Ball? Are you channeling Paul Poberezny?

How about common sense? The Germans have already cancelled ... what for it ... Octoberfest (in September go figure!). Germany has about 10% of our COVID-19 deaths.

Optimistic models show the pandemic easing off during the summer, and then easing back in during the Fall. Maybe there would be a window in late July, but maybe (and more than likely) not. That many often older people at a week-long event may very well precipitate 100s of COVID-19 deaths, among those who visit the event and those who then get the virus back at home. Besides that, attendance and sponsorships would likely be well down, and insurance likely up. Many potential problems.
