I saw on Facebook where Kermit Week's very long term restoration of his P-51A has made some progress thru Airmotive out in California. Kermit's is the only one I know of that is even being worked on as far as Restorations. You have Planes of Fame with there P-51A. Also a guy out in Kansas has the late Moon Spillers P-51A which was reworked by Pacific Fighters. I had the privilege of flying in Polar Bear when Moon owned it way back in 1987. Are there any others out there? The P-51A is a rare Mustang.

Has Gerry Becks “homebuilt” P-51A been restored? I thought I read that they were working on it.

At one time there was talk of parts from an Allison-engined Mustang recovered from the Moscow area being used as the basis of a restoration in California. I've not heard any updates recently though.

Another potential project for someone that has the desire (and maybe a few extra dollars too)? :D

That last seller is Dusty Dowd, the current owner of the former Polar Bear.

For fun, hit the button for "Show all ads posted by this advertiser". That tells you a lot about Dusty. Along with all this, I believe Gary Austin leased his Cassutt from Dusty, Dusty has a bunch of them.
