Any idea where I could get a Classic Wings in Phoenix AZ?

We don't ship the magazine for retail sale to the US anymore (now subscription only). The cost to do so is astronomical.

PM your postal address and I will get a copy off to you.

Still nothing here in Perth Australia. They did track one parcel in South Australia. Took 2 months to travel 58km as the crow flies. Our postal system is a joke at the best of times.

Yes, mail into OZ is surprisingly slow. As mentioned above, those in the UK are receiving theirs.

OZ aside, I haven't heard that anyone in Nth America has theirs to date...if someone could advise when they do, that would be appreciated.

As a follow up to the main article in the current issue, we reached a milestone on Sunday, Gloria Lyons has her wings attached for the first time since 1965. Surprisingly she didn't put up much of a fight and the operation went relatively smoothly.

What an awesome sight to see it reassembled like that and resting on its gear. Thank you Dave for sharing that photo and report! It's interesting too, at least to me, to see how well those Medium Green camouflage blotches on the wings have stood-up all of these years.

John

The top surfaces have weathered back to the Curtiss factory camo finish, with the faint remains of the RNZAF roundels (these in much better condition on the underside)

cheers
Dave

55 years, here is a photo of the lower surfaces, markings have survived remarkably well, considering they were outside for almost 60 years (fortunately the fuselage made it into John's shed reasonable soon after he saved the aircraft).

I am sure we are all grateful for saving those aircraft. Great to see how well they have faired over the years.
