Interesting concepts. I wonder how many will come to pass? Certainly not the plans for the Flying Leatherneck Museum.

First I've heard of this one. Looks like an interesting idea and there are a lot of well-known names involved. I hope it happens too!

As an aside, I wonder how the Yankee Air Museum plans for the bomber plant site fit with their current location? It also sounds like they are breaking ground on another new building that will house the flyable aircraft. It's kind of hard to keep their plans straight.

Yes, they're calling it the "Roush Aeronautics Center".[1]

The original blueprints for our first hangar show one in each of the four corners and one more in the center for scale! Guess being such an iconic airplane makes it the go to choice for a copy/paste placeholder!

This is a really nice list, plainly a work of love and curiosity. I would much like to share a beer with you.

I thought this would be a super niche thread when you started it, but it is really enjoyable to look at this artwork.

It makes me wish I had time to render some of these as scenery in Flight Simulator, so that folks could see them in 3D from the air, and fly in to visit the ones that are on airports.

Thanks! I'm glad you find it interesting! I always thought it might be useful as a reference for other museums considering this type of construction/expansion to see what others were considering.

As was brought to my attention by a recent thread:
