I was cleaning up this aluminium cone and noticed several different paint colours below the grey.

The Nato stores codes says it is a USAF pylon drop tank part.
It looks like the tail end of an F18 drop tank but there are only 5 mounting bolts around the circumference - so from something else.

I tried flaking the paint off but the grey was well adhered to some colours and not others.

There appears to be chevrons on both sides in Green, Red yellow and Blue against an overall white scheme.

Does anyone recognize the scheme to attribute it to a special paint scheme ?
