I'm trying to clarify the fate of RF-101 Voodoo/56-0222.

This is the entry in Forgotten Jets.
RF-101C-60-MC Voodoo/56-0222
    USAF 18th TFW.
6/15/1965: Crashed near Ogden on approach to Hill AFB, UT. Perhaps wrong serial?

Joe Baugher has this information
w/o Aug 10, 1965, over South Vietnam

However, I just received an image of 222 being scraped in Thailand somewhen between 1962-1968.

Obviously the information in FJ is incorrect.
My thoughts are that the Baugher information is incomplete and that 222 was written off after being damaged over Vietnam.

Does anybody have any further information to clarify the history of this airframe?

Scott,

I think the answer is somewhere between the two. Its record card shows it combat-ready with 18th at TFW Kadena, then crash damaged on 22 May 1965. It passed to Udorn on 10 August 1965, presumably concurrent with its salvage. I can't locate a record of it after that date.

And up pops another mystery: note the F-105D tail marked "10140". Per Baugher:
Joe Baugher wrote:
(61-)0140 shot down Aug 7, 1966. Pilot POW.

Per Forgotten Jets:
Forgotten Jets wrote:
*8/7/1966: Shot down by ground fire near Haiphong/Kep, North Vietnam.

Did 140 get re-tailed at some point? Doubt that would have come from a crash site in NVN.
