To the WIX “hive”. This gentleman contacted me via the CAF for help locating a photo of a specific SNJ-5, as described below, lost with its two crew in 1949, at the request of the family. I suggested he register on WIX and post his request but he seems to be having an issue with getting registered. I offered to post his request and help him if I could. I have his email address and phone, but don’t want to post that online. Here is the text of an email he sent to Scott earlier today. I will forward any help you can offer until he can become fully active. Thanks in advance.

“I've tried to register and went through the hoops setting up a user name; password, etc. and then tried to sign in and was told my registration is inactive. Thinking I made a mistake I went through the registration procedure again and then it said it was already in use so I tried signing in again. Once again got the response of inactive.
I really want to reach out to folks seeking the possible existence of a photo of a specific SNJ-5 Texan that crashed on 11 March 1949 killing the two pilots. This plane rests in pieces deep in the muddy bottom of a small lake in East King County, Wa. foothills.
It's original serial number for the Army was 42-85618 but instead went to the Navy specifically to Alameda Air Station in August 1944 with Bu # 90586. In 1946 it was placed in storage in Pensacola before being assigned in July 1948 to NAS-Sand Point in Seattle.
Thank you for any help and effort you can afford me. I'll be glad to share the rest of the story. My collaborator and I finally in November 2020 convinced the Navy Underwater History & Heritage Command of the lake it rests in with the pilot's remains.
Shawn Murphy”
If you dm me his username or e-mail I can activate him. Some spam filters block the message used for activating accounts. Unfortunately I can't do anything about that on my end and if I remove the requirement we get spam bots everywhere.
