DC4 / C54 News

Wed Mar 16, 2022 8:10 pm

A little good news on the DC4 scene. I had reached out to Mikey McBryan at Buffalo Airways to find out when N55CW in Florida was going to be ferried back to Red Deer, and his response was that it was going to the Museum in Wendover Utah instead. I don't know all the details other than this, but maybe it will become a flying exhibit? Does anybody have anything further on this development? I know that museum acquired another ex-sprayer DC4 that was derelict at their airfield recently, perhaps that will be for parts or??? Anyway, the flight from Florida to Utah should be soon, it's being prepped for the last couple weeks

Tanker 16 did NOT go to Wendover.
She went to St George~

For these folks~ http://www.westernskywarbirds.org/home.html

Wendover's bird was an air tanker (for fire fighting), but said tank has since been removed.
(you may have to scroll a bit- look for "Belly Tank Removed from Former Air Tanker – April 2, 2021")

Tanker 16 was also a tanker of sorts, but for other purposes as you'll read in the link above.
