That's the most insanely large wood structure I've ever stood in. If you get anywhere close to the Oregon coast, it's worth the trip just to look inside.
That one photo taken from the rafters, there's now a basketball hoop mounted just over the center of one set of doors very close to where that shot was taken.

Last time I was there, there was a Duck on display.

A lot of J2Fs there.
Obviously more than the local assignment.
So, West coast pool or depot?

John B, it must have been a while since you were last in Tillamook. I took these pictures in the Erickson Museum in Madras in May 2014. I assume that it’s the Duck that was in the Tillamook hangar. I was still flying a DC-7 for Aero Air/ Erickson Aero Tanker at the time, so I could sneak into the museum from the ramp and climb around in the airplanes, which was a very cool perk.

More on post-WWII aircraft storage at NAS Tillamook...

Acccording to Shettle's book, "U.S. Naval Air Stations of WWII" Vol 2, pgs 240 -243 he states that eventually 433 A/C were placed in storage at Tillamook including 107 FM-2 Wildcats.
