What a terrible tragedy.

My condolences to the family and friends of those involved, and to all those that knew them.

Paul

There are no words to express the loss of the crews - so sad.

My condolences to the crew members, their families and friends and the CAF community. They’ll probably cancel tomorrow’s show. Just a sad deal all around.

I saw the video posted with no further context - figured I was going to see cool footage from Wings Over Dallas. Had I known what was in the video, I wouldn't have watched. Just totally shocked and sickened.

My sincere condolences to everyone at CAF and the friends, family and colleagues of the pilots, crew and everyone involved.

Yeah don't think I'll need to watch that twice, about as bad as it gets.
At least they barely knew what hit them, if at all.

Watching one of the videos posted on here, it appears to me that the 63 was in a descending left turn. There is a possibility that the 17 was in his blind spot during the entire turn.

I was at the show, shooting photos for the show. Let's just say that this was incredibly tragic, it is incredibly sad, and I suspect it will be hard to see how this does not impact future airshows. At the same time, I feel like the community will need to pull together and push back against over-reaction.

Yes, the show was cancelled. There's no way the FAA was going to let there be a show tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure a ton of people wouldn't have wanted to fly, or attend, either. The crowd evacuated incredibly fast.

As Nat Henderson (Long-time CAF Colonel and newspaper columnist) once wrote for the Praha Memorial Day ceremony: "May their farewell to flesh and blood have been as quick and clean as the shattering of crystal."

I couldn't say it any better than Dave Homewood did on the previous page, so I won't try. A tragic loss in so many ways.

This is more of a head-on video. https://twitter.com/JasonWhitely/status ... 1798668291

Opinion - P63 was watching/following Lead P-51 (seen briefly, far right) and never saw B-17. Sad day for all.

This is not meant to incite an argument or start questioning or building opinions...but I am genuinely curious (as I have no knowledge here) but aren't there briefings on looping patterns and tower control for these shows or is it more flexible?

Like everyone here, I'm completely gutted and at a loss for words. You start to think of a Fortress as invincible and that they will always come home. The last decade or so has proven otherwise. I am so sorry that this happened and my sincere condolences to all involved and all of their families. This is truly gut wrenching. And that there was so much video almost makes it worse. I keep watching and hoping The P-63 will correct in time with each viewing, but that isn't going to happen. Hopefully, this never happens again.
