Super nice little Canadian museum.

The great war flying museum.... https://greatwarflyingmuseum.org/

These guys have been going at it for years....and are still going strong and working on pretty sweet replicas.

The airframes ''except the smaller scale SE5'' are where they need to be for scale and the airfoils to what they were originally designed to.

This being said......the fuselages are made out of metal and not wood. Thus requiring a lot more HP's for the same size.

The way they inverted a ranger for the prop shaft on the D-9 so it sits at the right place for the prop and used modified tank engines radials to get it done on other AC's ....just wow.

It was closed when I visited and the volunteers let me in and answered all my geeky questions.

They have been operating on Canada for many many years.....

I hope to see them fly one summer even if they are far from were I live.

Have a few of these coming if you like them.

Finally back to travel a bit....

Cheers all!

BTW......for those who find this interesting......

The Germans delivered the fabric already painted during WW1 before they got onto the birds.....

I was always under the impression they where field or factory painted!!!!

I was told they look fancy......but the patterns where not done by the WW1 AC factories or in the field.....

Anyone cared to pitch in!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????

I'm glad you are posting. Personally, I find the forum format to be better than other forms of social media!

The Vintage Aviator in NZ get fabric made by one of the German companies that made it during WW1.
