There is a lot to do in Atlantic Canada for the Aviation enthusiast. In Nova Scotia, there are three excellent aviation Museums. The Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum is adjacent to the Halifax International Airport has over 22 aircraft on display. Closer to Halifax in Dartmouth, is the Shearwater Aviation Museum, dedicated to Canada's maritime aviation.
About an hour from Halifax, in the Annapolis Valley is the Greenwood Military Museum, located at CFB Greenwood. It is also home to Atlantic Canada's other Lancaster KB839.
The Avenger pictured above is ACAMs eample , which is actually located in Fredericton New Brunswick, where it is being restored for eventual display at Halifax.
If you are venturing further afield to Newfoundland, the only aviation museum in Newfoundland is located in Gander.
Hope this gives you some idea, if you need anything further, please let me know.
Mark

Hi--

Shearwater museum is excellent and well worth a visit. Only glaring lack there: they have no Sea Fury! :-) ACAM is nice too; if you go make sure to view the Hudson fuselage in the woodlot beside the parking lot. Greenwood I haven't been to but I understand that's a nice collection also.

Several towns/CFBs have pylon aircraft in the Maritimes; check Ed Solonyka's "Large Canadian Roadside Attractions" site for those, but you can also add the aircraft at CFB Summerside (PEI) and CFB Cornwallis (NB), which aren't on Ed's site because they aren't on pylons. Same with the Lanc at Edmundston (St.Jacques) airport. BTW you have to be quick-eyed to spot that: it comes up very suddenly right by the side of the road, surprisingly well-hidden by a handsome stand of pine trees that borders the field.

Several of the retired Forest Protection Ltd. TBM-3s should still be parked on the ramp at Fredericton (Miramichi) airport. There were nine Avengers there when I visited in fall 2002, seven of FPL's plus a French-registered one (also ex-FPL) and ACAM's project airframe.

There's a firefighting museum at Boiestown NB that reportedly has another TBM in it. Haven't seen that one.

Cheers

S.
