I took a look at the Jets page under B-47, and spotted this listing:
http://www.warbirdregistry.org/jetregis ... 17071.html
Just to update, B-47E 51-7071 City of Altus is still on display at the corner of Park Lane and Broadway in Altus. Google Street View:

As delivered in April 1961:

Note the different buzz number on the fuel tank - B-47B 51-2294 was retired May 24, 1961 so the tank may have been a spare on hand at Davis-Monthan?
The April 16, 1961 article in the Altus Times-Democrat describes 7071 as the first B-47 to land at the newly reopened Altus AFB and the first B-47 to be donated by the USAF for public display.

Thank you. I appreciate the comments. One of the reasons I still do the site is people like you appreciate it. It helps make it worthwhile especially since
this is the second year in a row that the site lost money, It's comments like yours that keep me motivated.

I saw that Shooting Star at the Clark County Airport in Indiana when I happened upon it in 1994. I shot some video of the Corsair that was under restoration and saw the T-33 as well. It shows up at 1:35 in this admittedly underwhelming video that I shot: https://youtu.be/LSAYQ0tOiTw

Scott, why not explain the financial breakdown of operating this site? Many Wixers may not know or understand what it takes to keep a site like this going.

I think it would benefit the Wixers and certainly yourself as well.

Currently we have two server rentals. one runs the WIX and the majority of the site. The other one runs sections of the site and will be the home of WIX Mk. III. They cost about $180 a month plus another $50 in database fees since WIX is so huge. So about $2700 a year

Software subscription runs about $600 a year (this includes dreamweaver, photoshop and other software used to create the site.

Domain registrations vary per year but run about $300.

Ad revenue runs about $160 a month and subscriber contributions run about $50 a month (the majority of Paypal subscribers have stopped or let the credit cards expire).

So basically income is roughly $2,500 and costs (not including internet, utilities and what not) are around $3,600 annually.

At one point I dreamed of doing this full time because I have so many projects I would like to do. But for now I have to work two jobs to make rent and I'm down to allocating 10-15 hours a week to the site. It's tough since I've devoted nearly 30 years to this site and I don't want to let it go but at some point I'll have to make that decision.

I don't want to come across as whiny or ungrateful. I appreciate everything that you guys have done for the site, heck, I'm, typing this on a computer that WIXers bought when the last one angered in. It's just frustrating some times.

I appreciate your continued support and I love the community we have created.

Wow! Ok so we have to fix this Scott.
Are you still getting my monthly contribution? I set it up as an automatic withdrawal long ago and then forgot about it. I haven’t checked from my end. But if you’re not receiving it then I will make sure it’s not expired or discontinued.

You need to be making some income from WIX for all you efforts over all these years. At the very least covering your expenses.

How about those servers? Is it better to rent them vs own them?

Let’s chat Scott, I didn’t know much of this breakdown until now, and we can certainly fix this to your benefit for sure.

Reach out anytime.

At this point renting them is a better option as that includes running them tech support. I have considered buying them outright but that would increase the time allocated for maintenance and that would be less than ideal.

But the big issue is the inability to shift servers, WIX Mk. II is sort of stuck where it is. Moving it risks breaking all the links. I have so far made two unsuccessful attempts to migrate the site. So at least for now I'm stuck with the original server, at least until I can figure out a safe way to migrate the site.

Decided to increase my Patreon monthly contribution after reading this, thanks for everything Scott! I did wonder how much Patreon takes off, if there is a better way to contribute? The automated monthly payment is nice but perhaps there is a better alternative?

Here is the Patreon link for anyone else looking to contribute.

Thanks Thomas, I appreciate it.

Paypal take about 25% off of $2 subscription though it drops significantly as the amount increases to about 5% of a $25 subscription
Patreon runs a bout 10% across the board

http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/donate.html for options and mailing address for direct payments.

I really do appreciate the support.
