A master of his craft.
Arguably the best known warbird artist, extremely popular in the UK.

RIP.

Indeed.
Undoubtably the finest aviation and marine artist of his generation. Spent way too much on a lot of them when I was young and they were being first issued back in the 80's.

Currently typing this and looking up at Zemke's Wolkpack, Eagle Attack and Hurricane Force hanging on the living room wall.

Me to...sitting here in my study with two of his books Combat Over London, Eagles Out Of The Sun, First Of Many and several others here on the walls.

I thought he was the master at subtle but compelling backgrounds; clouds, sun, landscapes...and even a few pooches that appeared in his prints.

Nothing like him for sure...
