Amazing!
Huge respect to this fine man.
I was fortunate enough to see him at the gathering of Mustangs and Legends.

In the event he actually sees this...
Colonel, Happy Birthday!

I have previously mentioned my interaction with him at the "Radials and Rivers" Mustang history event a few years ago.
When he signed my book, he thanked me for MY service.
I quickly corrected him that no one ever directly shot at me...well, except for the occasional commander and more than a few media types.

Unassuming, modest, a fine gentleman.

I remember when I was at Oshkosh in 2016 with the TSWM's P-40 and it started raining. We all quickly ducked into one of those party tents as people were scrambling to find cover. There were a few open chairs, but it was still pretty cramped because of all the equipment and other stuff that was inside. A woman opened the flap and asked if we had room for one more person. From what I remember, there was a general agreement of "eh, we might able to make some space" and a bit of half-hearted shuffling. Then the guest appeared at the entrance to the tent and it was none other than Bud Anderson. The mood very quickly changed to "hell yeah, we have room!"

I remember at Reno 2021, I walked into the National Aviation Heritage Invitational area. There was a small desk set up to the left of me and two guys sitting behind it. I figured they were just selling a book or something, but it was no other than Bud Anderson and Dick Rutan. It took my mind a few seconds to realize what I was seeing. It was like seeing God or maybe Tom Brady... :P And the fact that only one person was talking to them, also blew me away. I wasn't wearing a mask, but Dick said I could get a picture of them both as long as I wasn't wearing one. Two of the nicest guys I've ever met. Happy birthday Bud... :drinkers: You made that trip to Reno extra rememberable, thank you..

Phil
