Has anyone seen if Herr Sippel's Komet replica got airborne at Friedrichshafen 2024? Any video? TIA.

Article says he plans to unveil it, not fly it.

And the very same article states, "This tremendous reduction in weight enables the replica to fly by the power of a modest jet engine...". I now realize that I was confused by the author's use of present tense.

Thanks for responding, all!

With the advances in drone technology, it would be fun to see a full scale flying replica which could be safely flown remotely.

I'm curious now where the intakes would be for said jet engine, and if some engineering is being done to reduce one of the more dangerous features - the lack of shock absorption in the skid, which if I remember correctly wasn't too friendly on the pilot's backs on landing.

I can imagine the Ukrainians building these right now and using them against the Russians.
