Just got back from a wonderful afternoon of Tiger Moth flying. Got some flying time in myself and we over flew a motorcycle rally.

This is Maj. Stan J. Miller RCAF Retired who has taught me everything I know about flying. I got a swat in the back of the head today after I did a flat turn trying to follow behind a Cessna as we entered the downwind. What a blast

Short hops are fun :D and I will never refuse a flight with Stan. He just turned 80, doesn't look it in the photo, and he is still licensed to do aerobatics in the Harvard. May see him again next weekend at the Classics of Collingwood.

Stan is seen in the centre with his Halifax crew in 1943.

Cheers,

Eric

Hi Eric--

What's up with the apparent fabric covering on the Halifax in the shot of Stan's crew? Is this actually a Wellington??

Slightly o/t, do you know whether Mr O'C in Uxbridge has any tech manual stuff for Bolingbrokes? Steve P asked about it in an earlier post, and at length I remembered that there was a Boly project at Uxbridge. Just a shot in the dark...

S.

Hey Steve,

Stan flew Wellingtons on training in England before operational sorties in Halfiaxs and Lancasters.

Not sure if Vince has manuals for the Boli. I will see if I can get a hold of him by phone and ask.

Eric

Ok, I don't have any pics of Stan with a Halifax scanned but here is a shot of him kitted up with a Lanc.
