Hi Dave--

Interesting machine. Sort of four parts Saro Lerwick and one part Convair Sea Dart...!

Extrapolating even further from the hypothetical unbuilt variants of the Blackburn 'boat, I can imagine this thing powered with, say, two late-mark P&W R2800s, or two R3350s, armed to the teeth in Fifth AF B-25H/J fashion, shredding Japanese shipping circa 1944-5...and not needing an island airfield to return to. Aviation is just full of such fascinating might-have-beens!
