Hey all -

I'm going to be visiting the mighty TO in about two weeks, driving in from Detroit.

Are there any worthwhile warbird sights to see on the drive?

Hey Randy,

Send me an e-mail off line and I will send you my phone number. We are heading down to Virginia at the end of the month but if we could spend a night talking over a few beers that would be cool. The CWH are nearby in Hamilton. The Toronto Aerospace Museum is right in town. On weekend the Great War Flying Museum fly their aircraft up in Brampton. The Halifax at CFB Trenton is about and hour and half east of Toronto. This is just to name a few.

See ya,

Eric

Randy--

Would be cool to connect and swap Walt Soplata stories! After this week I'm working evenings for a while, but if you're coming through Hamilton area early in the day (or on a Sat evening or Sun) maybe?? Same as Eric, drop me a line via email and I'll send my ph# too.

As to airplanes en route, don't miss Lancaster FM212 on a pylon in Jackson Park rose garden in Windsor (catch her there while you can...there are finally plans to move her indoors for restoration and eventual indoor display). She is the last pylon Lanc anywhere and in a quirk of fate is a consecutive airframe with CWH's flyable FM213.

BTW this week/next weekend the CH2A group at Windsor (they have two flyable Chipmunks and a Stearman) are hosting various events around the renaming of the Windsor airport terminal after a Windsorite who flew Spits. At one point it was hoped to have two Spits on show for some of the celebrations but I'm not sure if that's still the case. Also under the CH2A "umbrella" is the Lanc refurb initiative and the Mosquito reconstruction that is to use the pine test fuselage from the Powell shop in NZ. CH2A is based at Windsor airport.

Cheers

Steve T

Randy--

Which Sunday and what time? I haven't been up at CWH in ages (yeah, I know, that's kinda weird) and a mini-WIX meet would be a great idea. I'd bring along my two-decade-old Soplata pix...and my cameras!

Cheers

Ya, I should be able to make that one, sounds good to me. I have also not been there in a few years.

Randy/Eric--

Don't know if I can get married in time to bring a wife along  ...but Sun Aug 22 should work out okay for me. (Glad it wasn't this Sunday coming, as I'm busy most of the day and probably couldn't have made it).

Cheers

S.

Ya, I just checked my schedule and I have a family engagement party to shoot that afternoon but I can make a morning visit to the CWH no problem.

Always got time for aircraft.

Eric

Okay, guys. I'm leaving today and won't have internet access for the next two weeks. I'm still planning on being at the CWH on Sunday the 22nd in the late morning time frame.

Hope to see some of you WIXers there...more importantly, I hope I recognize you guys when I meet you!!

Cheers.

Hey Randy,

If you get a chance to look at WIX I will be there early morning to shoot the museum in digital. I will have a camera and tripod and possibly my wife will be tagging along as well.

Hope you have a good trip.

Eric

...And I'll be the guy with Eric and Bernadette! :D Short dude with greying hair and a vandyke beard, who wears an expression that suggests he wishes he owned a Sea Fury. You can't miss me...
