TG-4A 42-43742

Fri Apr 15, 2011 12:01 pm

Originally assigned to the 18th AAFGTD in Stuttgart, Arkansas, although it's as yet unknown if it was actually used there, as the airbase was switching to twin engine primary, and WASP training about the time of delivery.
Surplussed through RFC in Helena, Montana.

Currently undergoing restoration to as close to original condition as practical or legal.

you mention legality, is it going to be airworthy? Now that would be something to see!

TG-4, not CG-4 - BIG difference<G>

It has a standard airworthiness certificate as a civilian Laister Kauffman LK-10A. The trim tabs and pitot location are the only major changes

Yeah, got my hopes, though it would still be cool to see a TG-4 sail.

The gentleman I got it from has two more of them. One has been cleaned up for civilian use, and a restoration project that never was brought into conformity with the TC. It's being restored back to 100% original, whereas I'll be OK without the extra trim, the massive pile of dry cells and the Handy-Talky for the radio.

We have at least one more TG-4A on the board too.

Mark
