Recently I came across a rare photo of 44-83722 during her time in Saudi Arabia with the 7th ARS. Photo must be from the late-40's due to prominent buzz number, which was then in use. This timing would correlate with records indicating her service at Dhahran. Interesting juxtaposition of 6x6 truck loading or unloading the aircraft.

PS to the above: since posting this photo, I have had correspondence with Ted Morris, Sr. (through his son Ted, Jr.) who served at Dhahran and created a very interesting website on activities there (see below for link). Mr. Morris does not think this photo is from the time 483722 served in Saudi Arabia; rather, he believes this shot is from when it was left on the Nevada test range as a target.

However, buzz numbers generally were no longer used from the late '40's on, so it doesn't seem likely that -722 would have carried one into the time period when she was positioned as a target (tests were conducted from April to June 1952). Mr. Morris states no aircraft in Dhahran had them while he was Dhahran (1950-51). So it is not really clear where (or when) this photo was taken.

Here is the link: http://www.zianet.com/tmorris/dhahran.html
