Movie Review: The Mouse That Roared

Thu Apr 13, 2017 4:52 pm

A hilarious Peter Seller film. A small country in Europe with a single export-wine_faces bankruptcy after seeing sales drop due to great wines from California and France. The country's rulers come up with a plan: First, declare war on the US. Second, the US invades. Third, the US gives them billions in foreign aid. Peter plays the one man police/army unit. He is told to recruit nine men and invade the US. He does so. The ten men dres up as norman knights and cross the Atlantic in a tugboat. When they reach the US, it's a nuclear bomb drill day. Everyone in New York City is underground. They do find an open door in a building. They abduct a woman and her scientist father. Then they take their captives back to their country. "you idiot" the rulers tell him, "you were supposed to be captured". It turns out that the scientist had just developed a suitcase sized hydrogen bomb, so the US surrenders and the country gets their billlions. Five stars out of five.
