This is the movie on which the TV show Hogan's Heroes comes from, well, sort of. The movie is very serious drama whereas the TV show is madcap comedy. The actual only character carry over is Sergeant Schultz. In the movie he is a cruel and ruthless NAZI. Schultz is working in league with an American traitor who uses the light fixture in the barracks to let Schultz know where to find a note-where the traitor lets Schultz know what the prisoners are planning. Like I said, this is very serious drama. The prisoners find out who the traitor is and give him his just desserts. The movie is definitely worth a look see. Four stars out of five.
