Time to rate another movie!
This time it's "Flying Leathernecks"
It's World War II and a no-nonsense WWII squadron leader, Major Dan Kirby (John Wayne) is hard on his marines and his unforgiving style clashes with that of his fellow officer, Captain Carl Griffin (Robert Ryan). But will Kirby prove that there is a method to his madness after all?

105 views and 10 votes? Come on people! You vote counts. For what I'm not sure, but it does count. :)

I remember really liking it as a kid. Hodgepodge of WW2 footage, but some good F6F and F4U shots as I recall. The CB style microphones they used to communicate always cracked me up...at least I don't think that's the way those guys communicated??! We have one similar in the Cessna, but it's primarily for emergency; just like the overhead speaker.

I haven't seen it in years...so long ago I can't recall if they use F6Fs or F4Us....so I better not vote!

Typical John Wayne war movie. Lots of great color World War II combat footage mixed with a ham fisted script and so-so acting. Pretty typical for action movies of the time.

I haven't seen it in many years, but I remember that I liked it. Hellcats and The Duke, what's not to like? It was a product of an era, an era of movies that I happen to like a lot.

Next time I see it is going to be on TV, I'll watch it for sure! Most movies I see aren't worth watching a second time (Avengers?).

I've been looking for an online source but no luck. I'll have to check the archives, I might have it on dvd. I need to watch it again.

I agree with you though, they are a product of their era and you have to approach it that way. Holding it to modern standards will lead only to disappointment. :(

Currently the voting is at a tie! What will it be? 4-Stars or 5-Stars? Voting closes in two days!

Scott,

I have not been able to figure out how to vote. There are no instructions, I click various boxes and nothing happens.

(Please add instructions on how to participate, some of us are pretty stupid at this kind of thing!)

There is a circle next to each option, click in the circle next to the option you want and then click the submit vote button. Let me know if that works for you.

Top of what page - I do not see anything that suggests that this location should be pressed to answer a poll. (Can someone be more specific?)

... interesting. I have now gone up to the top of the thread and find a "submit vote" button, but I am telling you, that was not there before.
