Good morning everybody, I thought I had posted this successfully yesterday but didn't see any trace of it this morning when I went to check back in on it so lets try again, hopefully it'll work this time.

It's my first time posting though I've been lurking a while and figured I would make a username and see if anyone on here might be able to help. I had some radio components that I was looking for for an F8F-1 project and have been having difficulty tracking down some of them so I figured I'd see if you might know someone who might have some of these and be interested in selling since I'd seen a few of them listed on here in the past. The parts I've been looking for are:

RT-22A/APX-1 (RT-22/APX-1 will also work)
C-54/APX-1 Control Unit
C-55/APX-1 Selector Unit
C-115/ARC-1 Control Unit
C-116/ARR-2A Control Unit
C-37/ARR-2A Electric Tuning Control
C-119/APX Control Unit
MT-108/APX-1 Mounting Base

If anyone knows where I might could get some of these I would appreciate it. Thank you everyone.

I can't help with any of the items you're looking for, but I can make some suggestions. Keep an eye on eBay. It's pretty amazing what shows up there from time to time. Put feelers out on the various amateur radio swap-shop sites, such as eHam.net, qrz.com, and qth.com. Many hams have stashes of old military equipment. Don't forget about warbird parts dealers like Jay Wisler and Aero Trader. Check with WIXer Taigh Ramey, too. He has a lot of radio knowledge and he knows a lot of people in the warbird restoration world. Good luck in your search!

Oh, and WIX would love to know more about your F8F restoration! :supz:

Former Lurker

I don't have any of these currently, but do occasionally pick up airborne radio equipment and post to my site https://aeroantique.com/.
You may want to check there occasionally. I do also stumble across and procure other instruments/equipment used in the F8F, and there may be some there now.

If you are doing a restoration, disregard the prices, just email or PM me. My mission is to secure and reroute warbird artifacts into restoration projects and aviation museums. I just enjoy the hunt and preservation until I can find them a new home (there is no money to be made with this hobby as my wife will attest). Still have a couple of hundred artifacts yet to post there, so feel free to reach out anytime.

I am in the process of going through 5000lbs of radio components, mostly WWII. There are some ARR-2 items in there and possibly some of the APX-1. I won't be through them until the end of the summer (September) at the rate I am going, but if you are patient, I might be able to help you.

That might be just one or two SCR-522 systems! Just kidding, that's alot.

If I lived nearby, I'd offer to join the quest. Perhaps some WIX'rs can join in to help sort it out. Can't think of a better way to spend a weekend!

Thanks everyone for the replies looks like I've got a few more leads to follow. I've been keeping an eye on ebay (where I've gotten quite a few good finds in the past) but hadn't seen the APX stuff show up yet. I had found a couple of parts from Jay Wisler but he didn't have this stuff listed, though he said he would look around and see if he might have them and just not have them listed. I'll try posting on the amateur radio sites, I'd been looking at those but there didn't seem to be much activity. Forgotten Field, if you have a website of the same name then we've talked in the past about some other random parts that I was looking for a few years ago. I'd definitely be interested in what you have radio wise, I'll check in with you in September then and see if you might have any of these. I've got others coming up that'll be needing radios so I'm sure I'll have a new list by then haha. 2banaviator I appreciate it, I'll keep an eye on your website and let you know if something pops up that catches my eye.

Thanks again everyone for the replies, looks like I've got a few more places to check now.

John: Definitely keep us informed as to when you have gone thru it and are ready to sell some of it. I've got a small shopping list of items I still need for my Fairchild.

Hey all,
I don't mean to be coy on this, but this season has been busy with work and attending school. I promised another customer that I'd be through it by the end of June, but that was impossible. I am pretty jammed up with storage issues (isn't everybody who plays with this stuff?) and that makes it hard to get out, inventory, and photograph everything. Here are some preliminary items I found when I got started on inventory; this is about 10% of what I have. Looks like I have some of the ARR-2 parts. These items are not available for sale at this time; I am still finishing the deal on them.
