WTB Boeing B-50 Superfortress Parts

Tue Jan 17, 2017 2:05 pm

I'm looking for B-50 Superfortress cockpit parts to go towards a project. Anything from the pilots / flight engineers stations would be welcome - especially an Auto-pilot Control Panel and Auto-pilot Turn Control that were both situated on the pilots centre control panel. Also needed for the centre panel and the flight engineers fire control panel are various switches and switch covers plus the keying switch itself.

The B-50 was based at various airfields here in the U.K in the 1950's and it would be great to remember those who served here on them.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Rob
Ambitious project!

Can you share the B-50 model designation that you are seeking to replicate?
Better yet, do you have any images or parts lists that could help?
I may have an autopilot control knob/module if I knew the autopilot system designation you wish to replicate.

Some parts (e.g., instruments) may appear very similar to those used in B-50s but have different part numbers for different aircraft/models, so if appearance is more important than authenticity, that would be helpful to know.

I've provided parts for some B-50 and KC-97 projects in recent past. You can also check my website and download a master inventory list there. The link is in my signature. You can also PM me.

I've had some very helpful replies so many thanks to those who have. Just as an update the Auto-pilot Control Panel I'm looking for is a Honeywell A-6 model, as used in several 50's USAF bomber aircraft.
If you can help then please with this or any cockpit items then please get in touch. Thanks.

As an update I have successfully located a keying switch and a couple of other switches for the centre control panel, plus a very nice pilots / copilots elevator trim control wheel, but I would appreciate any help with further cockpit items.

Many thanks,

Rob

I also have some B-50D Superfortress items from a crash site that I need help in identifying, the thread for which containing two pages now can be found here ; http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthre ... ress-Parts

All help very much appreciated!

I'm still on the lookout for a Honeywell E-6 auto pilot control panel to help me complete a B-50D pilots centre panel. Please help.

Very nice. I dread to think how much shipping would be to the UK though!

Looking for a set of B-50 Superfortress captains left side throttle levers (not B-29). Anything considered.
Thanks in advance.

I have NOS cockpit pitch trim wheels (Green Nylon) also used on B-29 for backup bomb door release.
