Hello,

The company I work for - Gateguards in the UK, build fullsize replica aircraft for Movies, Museums and collectors worldwide. We have this year, besides building F-35s for the Royal Navy, built a few Spitfires for the 'Dunkirk' film and a Bf109E too.

We are constantly being asked if people could just buy parts instead of the complete aeroplane, for their man cave or study and the answer is 'yes'. Parts are a totally new thing for us and we have a vast back catalogue of aircraft parts that can be replicated, rather than being stored away in a cupboard.

There seems to be big interest in anything WW2 orientated and the 109 seems to be the biggest contender for parts. As a result, we are now offering rudders and castellation rings as initial products and if it takes off (sorry) we can add other items to be created alongside the fullsize aeroplanes. Anything is possible. Prices for the Rudders start at £500, but if we get 10 orders or more this will drop to £400. Rings are a lot more involved in their construction and build and they warrant a price of £585, but if enough orders come in, I am sure that this price too can drop. We are very nice people.

So, there you go. Something new for us and I hope something for you too.

Best wishes,

Martin Pengelly
